Will You Help Us Continue Our Winning Streak?
Dec 2, 2025 by FACT
Did you know that Tennessee is the 5th-fastest-growing state in the US? Our state has been ranked the 2nd most religious state in the nation, the 13th most pro-life state, and ranked 6th in educational freedom, among other accolades. Tennessee stands out as a state that supports faith, family, and freedom – and Americans are noticing. That’s why Knoxville is predicted to be the most popular city to move to in 2026. Families want to live in a state that is safe, pro-family, pro-freedom, and prioritizes traditional values – not woke ideology.
The past year has been exceptionally successful for the conservative movement in Tennessee. The pro-family, pro-freedom wins are nearly too numerous to count, but as we approach the end of 2025, we want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible work our legislators and elected officials have accomplished over the past year.
All the work FACT and our allies around the state are doing is making a tangible difference. This Giving Tuesday, we hope you will consider supporting our mission as we fight the woke agenda culturally, politically, and legally.
Tennessee’s 2025 legislative session scored several impressive wins on the education front. From banning cell phone use in the classroom (which has already shown tremendous results in students’ performance) to passing a bill ensuring teachers and school staff will not be penalized for using biologically accurate pronouns for students (rather than their “preferred pronouns”), our public schools are now some of the most pro-family, pro-freedom in the nation!
The legislature passed two bills banning DEI programs in state and local government offices, schools, and public colleges and universities. The bills also prohibit government-funded institutions from considering race, ethnicity, sex, or age in employment decisions.
Lawmakers also celebrated the passage of the Education Freedom Act, which establishes universal school choice for Tennessee families – an accomplishment two decades in the making! Governor Lee is also working to expand Tennessee’s school voucher program to place parents back in charge of their children’s education.
Thanks to a bill passed earlier this year, Tennessee public schools will be required to include a course on the “Success Sequence,” which is centered on the data-backed principle that young adults who finish high school, enter the workforce, and marry before having children have a 97% chance of avoiding poverty in adulthood. The bill will take effect on July 1, 2026, and apply to the 2026-2027 school year.
Students in 6th-12th grade will also take a course on internet and social media safety, with lessons on artificial intelligence and digital wellness.
It’s no surprise that Tennessee students are “leading the nation in reading & math proficiency gains thanks to our historic investments in early literacy strategy, summer learning programs & teachers,” according to local news outlet WVLT 8.
Tennessee is a state that values parental rights, student safety, and results-driven educational methods!
These initiatives are giving students the opportunity to earn the education they deserve and enter the real world prepared for success. Would you consider making a generous, tax-deductible contribution to help our organization remain at the forefront of the efforts to make Tennessee’s academic institutions the best in the nation?
One of Tennessee’s most notable successes of 2025 was the US Supreme Court’s decision to uphold our “Help Not Harm” law protecting minors from “gender affirming care,” which in turn helped dozens of other conservative states move forward with similar legislation. We are incredibly thankful for Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti’s leadership in seeing this case to victory! FACT was proud to play a small role in this important battle by submitting a unique amicus curiae brief for the Court’s consideration.
Secretary of State Tre Hargett recently announced the launch of an “immediate age-appropriateness review” of library books intended for minors in several counties, aiming to identify and eliminate any form of radical gender ideology present in books for children and teens. Parents should have peace of mind that when their kids walk around the children’s section of the library, they won’t be exposed to gender ideology, sexuality, language, or graphic violence.
On the pro-life front, we’re happy to share that two new Safe Haven Baby Boxes were installed in Kingsport and Knoxville this year, ensuring mothers in crisis have a safe place to surrender their babies anonymously as a last resort. One baby was surrendered at a baby box in Hendersonville, marking the third such surrender in Tennessee since baby boxes were introduced in our state.
We want to continue this winning streak in Tennessee by vigorously pursuing legislation to protect parents, children, and families in our state – but we need your help.
Would you prayerfully consider making a one-time or recurring contribution to our ministry this Giving Tuesday?
You may not see FACT’s name in the headlines frequently, but rest assured, we are at work behind the scenes with our legislators and public officials to ensure Tennessee remains a state where God is honored, life is cherished, families thrive, and religious freedom flourishes. Would you consider including us in your year-end giving so we can continue to defend your values at the local and state levels?
