An “Extraordinary” Easter Celebration
Apr 17, 2025 by FACT
Last year on Easter, President Joe Biden issued a disgraceful proclamation recognizing “Transgender Day of Visibility” rather than Resurrection Sunday. This year, in sharp contrast, the Trump administration has planned an “extraordinary weeklong celebration for Holy Week ahead of Easter Sunday,” expressing hope for an “outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon our beloved nation” this weekend. We’re thankful to see such a clear and historic proclamation of the Gospel from the White House, which we believe reflects a broader shift occurring in American culture back to Christian values.
The Trump administration issued the following proclamation on April 13:
Trump also reemphasized his commitment to defending “the Christian faith in our schools, military, workplaces, hospitals, and halls of government,” stating that his administration will “never waver in safeguarding the right to religious liberty, upholding the dignity of life, and protecting God in our public square.” In February, Trump created a task force to “eradicate anti-Christian bias” within the federal government by reviewing potentially unlawful anti-Christian policies in the DOJ, FBI, and other federal agencies.
This Easter, we have much to be grateful for. Not only is our president unashamed of the Gospel and committed to defending Christian values, but numerous reports and studies have found an overwhelming shift among Americans. The political and social turmoil of the last several years has pushed Americans toward Jesus, the Christ, who offers peace, hope, purpose, and truth among the moral confusion of this age.
Consider the following findings:
The Trump administration issued the following proclamation on April 13:
“This Holy Week, Melania and I join in prayer with Christians celebrating the crucifixion and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ—the living Son of God who conquered death, freed us from sin, and unlocked the gates of Heaven for all of humanity.
This week is a time of reflection for Christians to memorialize Jesus’ crucifixion—and to prepare their hearts, minds, and souls for His miraculous Resurrection from the dead.
During this sacred week, we acknowledge that the glory of Easter Sunday cannot come without the sacrifice Jesus Christ made on the cross. In His final hours on Earth, Christ willingly endured excruciating pain, torture, and execution on the cross out of a deep and abiding love for all His creation. Through His suffering, we have redemption. Through His death, we are forgiven of our sins. Through His Resurrection, we have hope of eternal life. On Easter morning, the stone is rolled away, the tomb is empty, and light prevails over darkness—signaling that death does not have the final word.”

Consider the following findings:
- A Barna Group study found that church attendance is on the rise, and a majority of Americans believe the Church is still needed and relevant to their daily lives.
- At the end of 2024, Bible sales were up 22% compared to the same time in 2023, while sales of all print books increased by less than 1%.
- In 2023, the American Bible Society’s annual report found that “44% of Gen Z adults between the ages of 18-26 are either very or extremely curious about Jesus and/or the Bible.”
- Campus Crusade for Christ, or Cru, reported an “unprecedented” interest in Christianity among young people in recent years.
- 2023 was termed the “Year of Revival” after numerous colleges all across America experienced spiritual awakenings, impacting thousands upon thousands of students and community members. And it continues this year!
